Oly trained at Imperial College London, completed core medical training in Edinburgh, and went to work in Bielefeld, Germany where he led an observational study investigating the association between sleep disruption and delirium. Before coming to Bradford, he worked as medical registrar at St Francis Hospital, Katete, Zambia where he performed a delirium prevalence study in collaboration with Newcastle University. He is supervised by Dr Andy Clegg, Dr Marlous Hall, Professor Chris Gale, Mary Godfrey and Professor John Young.
