
Research Manager
Chung provides business analytics, intelligence and insight to evaluate service performance and contribute to devise solutions and tactical plans for continuous development. He oversees the core business functions of the research unit including costings for research grant applications, budget management, contracts initiation and monitoring, and human resource management. He has good working relations with internal infrastructures as well as working collaboratively with external partners.
Chung joined the department in July 2009 after graduating with MSc in Business Management. He currently line manage a small team of administrative staff.
Chung is the Business Manager for the NIHR ARC Yorkshire and Humber, responsible for contracts management, data captures for performance report, and providing programme and finance management support for the four research themes and two cross-cutting themes across the region.
As and when required by research projects, Chung develops bespoke electronic data capture software applications using C# programming, including responsibility of data extract and contribution to analysis using SQL Server Management Studio.
