Dr Oliver Todd is an Academic Clinical Lecturer funded by NIHR at the Academic Unit for Ageing and Stroke Research and specialist training registrar in Geriatric and Internal Medicine at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, currently working clinically at St James’s Hospital Leeds. Oly is primarily supervised in his lectureship by Professor Andrew Clegg.
Oly recently completed a PhD fellowship funded by Dunhill Medical Trust investigating whether frailty is useful in identifying older people who may come to harm from BP-lowering therapy. He has a particular interest in cardiovascular ageing, as well as more broadly in research to improve the evidence base for the care of older people. Oly would be delighted to collaborate – please get in touch if you have shared interest/ would like to be involved in our research.
Oly trained at Imperial College London, completed core medical training in Edinburgh, and went to work in Bielefeld, Germany where he led an observational study investigating the association between sleep disruption and delirium. Before coming to Bradford, he worked as medical registrar at St Francis Hospital, Katete, Zambia where he performed a delirium prevalence study in collaboration with Newcastle University. Dr Oly Todd who has recently gained a Post-Doctoral Enrichment Award with the Alan Turing Institute.
