Dr Shegufta Farooq

Shegufta joined the department in 2010 as a Research Orthoptist. Her interest in combining research with clinical practice began in her previous role as a Research Orthoptist investigating ocular motility disorders with the Ophthalmology group at the University of Leicester. She achieved her PhD entitled: Torsional optokinetic nystagmus: response characteristics measured in the normal population and patients with ocular motor disorders in 2009 with the University of Leicester.

 

Since joining the department, Shegufta has worked on five multi-centre research studies at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation trust (3 of which are on ongoing). She has combined her research role with her clinical post as a Specialist Orthoptist at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
